APUSH SUMMER ASSIGNMENT
AP History proceeds at a very rapid pace, as we will need to be through the entire book by late April of next year. Therefore, we try to get a jump on the year by having students complete a summer assignment. The reading assignments are accompanied by some written assignments to make sure you comprehend what you have read. The summer assignment will be due the FIRST DAY we get back to school. We will spend the first two weeks of class reviewing these assignments and there will be a test at the end of the second week.
THERE ARE 3 COMPONENTS TO THE SUMMER ASSIGNMENT:
I. Study Guides: Complete Study Guides 1 through 4. You do NOT have to write out the identification people and terms at the top of the paper. You also do NOT have to copy the questions. You MUST answer the question in complete sentences and the assignment may NOT be typed---it must be turned in hand-written. These will be the first of many study guides you will have to complete over this year.
II. Quizzes: You will need to complete one online quiz for chapters 1-4 throughout the summer. You will find these quizzes posted on my teacher website and will have a window of time to complete these quizzes. These will be open book/note quizzes. I will be communicating with you via email when the quizzes are posted. Check your school email frequently for updates.
III. Map Work:
The 13 British Colonies: Neatness counts!!
1.Label the map of the 13 British colonies.
2.List the founder (individual or group) of each colony (HINT: Page 37)
3.Identify the five major port cities that developed along the east coast of the British Colonies.
4.Label the 5 “Great Lakes”
5.Color each region (there are three basic regions) of the 13 colonies a different color. Include a legend explaining which color represents which region.
